The Pacific University volleyball team lost to host University of Puget Sound, 25-10, 26-24, 25-12 on Friday night in Tacoma, Washington.
The Boxers (11-10, 5-6 NWC) were led by junior

Lia Zablan (Ewa Beach, Hawaii) had 17 digs and

The Loggers (14-6, 9-3 NWC) out hit Pacific, .250 to .042 in the win. Plus, Hannah Stinson had a match-high 14 kills and a .571 hitting percentage to lead Puget Sound to the straight-set win.
Puget Sound started the first set on an 11-2 run and went on to take the first set, 25-10. For the Loggers, it was a balanced attack that saw Stinson record a team-high four kills, plus Kristen Lane added three.
The second set saw the Boxers rally from an early 6-2 deficit to tie the set on a pair of occasions and build a 14-11 lead. The Loggers came back with five-straight points to regain the lead at 16-14. The momentum continued to go back and forth, but the set was decided by three-straight kills and a block by the Loggers allowed the home team to take the second set, 26-24. Stinson accounted for eight of the 17 kills to lead the Loggers, who out hit Pacific by a slight .250 to .204 margin.
In the third set, Puget Sound raced out to a 12-1 lead. The Boxers came back with a 6-1 spurt to prompt a Puget Sound timeout. Pacific managed to cut the deficit to as little as five, 13-8 but no closer as the Loggers won the set by a 25-12 margin and the match in straight sets.
Next, Pacific will host Lewis & Clark on Saturday at 5 p.m. in a match at the Stoller Center. Earlier this year, the Boxers won in four at Lewis & Clark, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-22 on Sept. 24 in Portland.
