Boxers, Pioneers finish in 1-1 draw

PORTLAND, Ore. — For the secnd time this season, the Pacific women's soccer team finished in a scoreless draw on the road, as Pacific finished in a 0-0 draw at Lewis & Clark on Saturday.

The goalkeepers and defense highlighted the match as the first shot on frame came in the 41st minute when Pacific sophomore Emily Thompson (Orange County, Calif.) forced Lewis & Clark's Hannah Osmundson to record the first save in the match. Pacific's sophomore goalkeeper Kailey Hifumi (Mililani, Hawaii) spurning into action in the 42nd minute for her first save of the afternoon.

The second period saw Osmundson notch her lone save in the 57th minute, before Hifumi recorded stops in the 71st and 78th. Twice in the 81st minute, the Pacific defense made stops on the goal line for a pair of team saves.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in a pair of overtime periods, with Osmundson forced to make a pair of stops over the final 20 minutes of play.

The Boxers head north to Puget Sound on Sunday for a noon kickoff against the host Loggers.
