Box Score The Pacific University volleyball team dropped a 25-19, 25-21, 25-22 decision to Willamette on Saturday night in Forest Grove.

The Boxers (13-5, 6-4 NWC) have lost back-to-back matches for the first time on the season. Sophomore Milana Ivkovic (Beaverton, Ore.) had 12 kills and junior Morgan Mendicino (San Diego, Calif.) added 10 in the loss. Plus, junior libero Anna VanderWeyst (Lacey, Wash.) had a match-high 30 digs.

The Bearcats (7-11, 4-6 NWC) out hit Pacific, .233 to .169 in the win; plus, Jaiden Mason had a double double with 13 digs and 11 kills to go along with three blocks in the win. Arianna Khan added 10 kills and eight digs in the win; plus the frontline for Willamette came together to post eight blocks.
 
The first set was tied four times until a 9-2 spurt by the visitors put the Bearcats ahead for the remainder of the set. The second set saw the Boxers build a pair of six-point leads. After an Ivkovic kill put Pacific ahead 19-14, Willamette clawed back for its first lead of the set with a 7-1 run to take a 21-20 lead. The Bearcasts secured the set, scoring four of the final five points for a two-set lead at the intermission. The third set was tightly contest with a pair of lead changes and six tie scores. With the set tied at 8, five-consecutive Bearcat points put the visitors ahead 13-8. The Boxers would manage to rally to cut the deficit to two on three occasions but no closer.
 
Next, Pacific will host Lewis & Clark on Friday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Stoller Center.
