Pair collects two hits as Boxers drop doubleheader at PLU

Box Score 2 TACOMA, Wash. — Kaitlynn Donaca and
Katelyn Macaitis-Smith both recorded a pair of hits in game one of the Boxers' doubleheader at Pacific Lutheran as the Lutes swept the Boxers on Saturday.
Pacific Lutheran opened the day with a 6-0 game one victory, while the Lutes no-hit Pacific in a 9-1 game two victory over six innings.
The Boxers and Lutes are scheduled to meet again on Sunday with first pitch set for 11 a.m.
GAME ONE: Pacific Lutheran 6, Pacific 0
Donaca (Oregon City, Ore.) and Macaitis-Smith (Salem, Ore.) both recorded two hits, while
Ashley Martin (Sutherlin, Ore.) struck out three in the circle as Pacific fell in the opener to the Lutes.
PLU scored its opening run in the third, before scoring four in the fourth and posting a final run in the fifth inning.
Anna Overland drove in five of the Lutes' six runs in the opener.
GAME TWO: Pacific Lutheran 9, Pacific 1 (6 innings)
Trisha Snydar (Lynden, Wash.) picked up a RBI, while
Cassie Apple (Modesto, Calif.) struckout four in the Lutes' 9-1 victory.
Pacific Lutheran's Elli Rassbach no-hit the Boxers and struck out five in six innings of work in the circle.
After the Lutes scored one run in the first, Pacific responded in the top of the second when Snydar drove in Hayley Kodama (Pearl City, Hawaii) on a ground out to short.
The Lutes posted three runs in the second and one in the third to take a 5-1 lead. Four runs in the bottom of the sixth from the Lutes ended the game in the sixth with a PLU victory.
