FOREST GROVE — Jordyn Godfrey notched a hat trick and a pair of assists, while
Meg Chapman caused 10 turnovers in the Boxers' 15-2 home victory over Linfield at Hanson Stadium on Sunday.
After the Wildcats scored the opening goal at the 21:33 mark of the opening half, but Pacific responded with an
April Lanz (Oregon City, Ore.) goal to tie the game at 1-1 early.
Paisley Hiefield (Portland, Ore.) soon assisted on a goal by
Lucy Almao (Orange County, Calif.) that gave Pacific a 2-1 lead at the 19:57 mark.
Less than a minute after Almao's first goal, Chapman (Woodinville, Wash.) tallied off an assist from Lanz, with what turned out to be the game winning goal. The Boxers rattled off seven-straight goals before Linfield scored its second and final goal of the game with 12:14 remaining in the first half.
Pacific wrapped up the first half with five additional goals, before notching three goals in the second period to secure the 15-2 win.
Godfrey (Burnt Hills, N.Y.) led Pacific wth three goals on the day.
Paisley Hiefield, Lanz, Almao and
Roya Tahmassebi (Mountain View, Calif.) all scored two goals each, while Chapman,
Mallory Hiefield (Portland, Ore.),
Kenedie Hemrich (Murrieta, Calif.) and
Brittney Bardin (Albany, Ore.) all scored one goal in the game.
With her performance against Linfield, Godfrey surpassed 100 points during her Pacific career and surpassed the 130-point mark on her collegiate career.
Paisley Hiefield led Pacific with three assists, while Godfrey and Lanz both recoreded two. Almao added one assist to her statline on the day.
Chapman led all players with 10 caused turnovers and seven ground balls, while also snagging a team-high three draw controls.
In goal,
Adrienne Salzwedel (Beaverton, Ore.) picked up the win and notched three saves, while
Kaitlin Ellis (Hillsboro, Ore.) recorded two saves in a relief apperance.
The Boxers conclude the 2017 season 7-6 overall and 4-4 in Northwest Conference play.
