Boxer Track & Field Champions to compete at high profile meets this weekend

Pacific's five Northwest Conference Track & Field Champions along with a handful of other Boxers will compete at three high profile competitions this weekend.  On Friday, May 5, Kolby Nikolaisen (Sumner, Wash.), the NWC men's pole vault champion, will compete at the Oregon Twilight in Eugene, Oregon.  The meet which is taking place at historic Hayward Field features some of the top athletes in the Northwest.  The majority of the Boxers will compete at the Linfield Open, the major meet in Oregon this weekend, on Saturday, May 6.  Emily Sproul (Salem, Ore.), the NWC women's javelin champion, Dianna Church (Bothell, Wash.), the NWC women's hammer throw champion, and Jacob DuVall (Moses Lake, Wash.), the NWC men's discus throw champion, will all compete in their main event at Linfield.  DuVall will be joined in the discus competition by Josh Huffman (Puyallup, Wash.), who finished third in the event at the NWC Championships.  Karen Du (Santa Clarita, Calif.), who finished third in the women's shot put at the NWC Championships, and Church, who finished sixth, will both compete in the shot.  Jason Draper (Novato, Calif.) and Brian King (Los Angeles, Calif.), the second and sixth place finishers in the men's hammer throw at the NWC Championships, will contest the hammer.  Nikolaisen will also vault at Linfield along with Brynna Close (Riverside, Calif.), who finished seventh in the women's competition at the NWC Championships.  Kaleb Bass (Slate Creek, Idaho), the third place finisher in the men's steeplechase at the NWC Championships, will compete in the 800 meters at Linfield.  Stephenie Spencer (Bothell, Wash.), the NWC women's 10,000 meter champion, will race the 10K at the Occidental Invitational, the major meet in Southern California this weekend, late Saturday night in Los Angeles.
