Playing in their third match in five days, the Pacific University volleyball team posted a 25-14, 25-13, 25-14 victory over New Hope on Saturday afternoon in Forest Grove.
The Boxers (12-2) returned to its winning ways with the straight-set win after its 11-match winning streak was snapped on Friday. The win for Pacific came from a balanced attack with 11-different players recording a kill and a .372 hitting percentage. Freshman
Jordan Zweifel (Tillamook, Ore.) and
Nanea Lum (Kaneohe, Hawaii) each had five kills to lead the Boxers.
The Deacons (3-6) were led by Chandler Heinrick, who had a match-high 10 kills in the defeat.
Pacific led for nearly the entire match, holding a lead from start to finish in the first two sets. In the opening set, the Boxers hit a .500 clip and had just two hitting errors. The strong hitting efforts by Pacific was complemented by seven service aces with freshman Cassady Peters (Stevenson Ranch, Calif.), who had three. Â Freshman
Carli Feist (Burns, Ore.) had 19 assists in her most extensive action of her young career.
