The Pacific University volleyball team extended its winning streak to four with a pair of straight-set wins over Sul Ross State and Louisiana College on Friday at the Austin College Invitational Tournament in Sherman, Texas.
The Boxers (4-1) were victorious over Sul Ross State, 25-10, 25-13, 25-22 and against Louisiana College, 25-13, 25-16, 25-14. All four wins in the winning streak have been in straight sets by Pacific.

To begin the day, Pacific hit at a .263 clip with 10-different players contributing a kill to the win. Junior
Ellie Parker (pictured)Â (Beaverton, Ore.) and freshman
Carli Feist (Burns, Ore.) added 25 and nine assists, respectively; plus, senior
Anna VanderWeyst (Lacey, Wash.) had a team-high 18 digs to go along with three service aces. Parker led the service game for Pacific with four aces as the Boxers had 13 in the win.

The Boxers in the opening set jumped out to a 12-0 lead on the strength of three aces by Parker and three kills by reigning NWC Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week
Karlee Duncan (Bend, Ore.). Pacific hit .400 compared to -.130 by the visitors from Alpine, Texas. An 8-0 run on the service game of senior
Karissa Komo (Kailua-Kona, Hawaii), who had a pair of service aces, midway through the second set put the Boxers ahead for the rest of the set. The third set saw Pacific either tied or in the lead. Following the fourth tie of the set at 22, the Boxers' junior
Bailey Servoss (Mount Vernon, Wash.) recorded three-straight kills to end the set and the match.

The hot-hitting Boxers posted a .382 hitting percentage in the win over Louisiana College, who was playing in their first intercollegiate volleyball match. 13 players for Pacific had a kill with freshman
Jordan Zweifel (Tillamook, Ore.) leading the attack with seven, followed by five each from juniors
Hannah Hulse (Cove, Ore.),
Morgan Mendicino (San Diego, Calif.),
Natalia Burdulis (Maple Valley, Wash.) and Servoss. Parker added 31 assists and three more service aces; plus, VanderWeyst added 19 digs.
The two teams traded the first six points before Pacific went ahead for the remainder of the opening set. The Boxers closed out the opening set on a 11-2 run. In the second set, the Boxers built an early 8-1 lead to start the set where they took advantage of multiple miscues by the Wildcats. A 9-2 spurt to end the set put the Boxers ahead by two sets. A 15-4 run to end the third set in favor of the Boxers closed out the match. In that run, Burdulis had four of her five kills.

Next, Pacific will face two more American Southwest Conference foes on Saturday as they take on Concordia (Texas) at 9 a.m. (CST) and McMurry at 11 a.m. (CST), respectively.
