An early 3-pointer by
R.J. Collins put the Pacific men's basketball team ahead briefly in its contest against Linfield on Friday night.
The Wildcats scored the next seven points, leading the remainder of the contest en route to an 83-48 win over the Boxers, who fall to 11-8 overall and 5-5 in the Northwest Conference.
For the Boxers, senior
Nate Olowo scored a team-high 14 points. It is the 10
th time in the last 11 games that the senior from Rancho Cucamonga, California has been in double figures for Pacific. He also had eight rebounds, just shy of his eighth double double.
Linfield spread the scoring among 13-different players including four in double figures. Troy Arce and Tyler Watts each had 13, Austin Hilton added 12 and Jordan Clark scored 11 to lead the Wildcats. The Wildcats shot 48.4% from the field and limited the Boxers to 27.3%.
Also for Pacific, sophomore
Davis Holly added nine; plus Collins hit multiple 3-pointers in his fifth-straight game, to finish the contest with eight points.
Next for Pacific is three-straight home games at the friendly rims of the Stoller Center, beginning with an 8 p.m. contest on Friday, Feb. 2 against No. 4 Whitworth.
