Two Second Half Goals Lead George Fox Past Pacific

Box Score Two late goals proved to be the difference for the men's soccer team, who would drop a 2-0 decision to host George Fox on Sunday.
 
The Boxers (1-7-3, 0-5-2 NWC) held the Bruins (2-8-1, 1-5-1 NWC) scoreless in the first half and had a couple of scoring chances not bounce their way.
 
Cade Taniguchi would be the first to take a shot; his missing high in the 5th minute, and Woodey Greer would have his attempt in the 34th minute blocked by a George Fox defender.
 
In the second half, George Fox would take control of the possession game, putting consistent pressure on the Boxer defense. Following a Boxer foul, in the 82nd minute, the Bruins quickly capitalized on a goal by x in the 82nd minute.
 
George Fox would add another goal on a penalty kick in the 89th minute. The Boxers nearly got on the scoreboard as a shot attempt by Shawn Opfer sailed wide, ending the match.
 
The Boxers are back in action on Saturday, Oct 13 at 2:30pm taking on Pacific Lutheran on Ledbetter Field at Hanson Stadium.
