Four Boxers Score in Double Figures in 126-111 Win Over Cal Lutheran

A fast start to the second half sparked the Pacific University men's basketball team to a 126-111 win over host Cal Lutheran on Thursday evening in Thousand Oaks, California.
 
The Boxers (5-5) made a season-high 19 3-pointers are the most by a Pacific squad, who hit 21 against Multnomah on Nov. 28, 2006. Four players for Pacific scored in double figures including Marcus Wallace (35 points), Brevin Brown (27 points), Davis Holly (18 points) and Jared Cattell (10 points).
 
The Kingsmen (2-4) had five players in double figures in the loss including Kyle Ferreira, who had 30 points to lead Cal Lutheran. He was joined by Michael Wadsworth, who added 28, Austin Cole chipped in 20, Palmer Chaplin added 16 and Jared Wulburn chipped in 13.
 
Pacific stretched a five-point, 56-51, halftime lead to double digits with a 10-2 run to start the second half. In the run, Wallace and Cattell each hit a 3-pointer for the Boxers. In the second 20 minutes, the Boxers had its second 70-point half of the season with Wallace scoring 24 of his 35. Defensively, Pacific forced 10 turnovers and came away with seven steals.
 
Cal Lutheran managed to cut the deficit to six, 72-66 with 16:21 left in the contest. Wallace answered the spurt with a 3-point play to spark another 10-2 run that put the lead at or around double digits for the remainder of the contest.
 
Next, Pacific will come home to host University of Northwestern (Minn.) on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 3 p.m. at the Stoller Center. The Eagles will come to Forest Grove after having played at Willamette on Friday, Dec. 28 as part of a West Coast trip.
