The Pacific University men's tennis team rolled to its second-straight win by a 9-0 margin, defeating Austin College on Thursday at the Holce Tennis Courts in Forest Grove.
The Boxers (5-2) extend its winning streak to three with the win and took all three doubles matches for the fourth time on the season. The No. 1 doubles team of
Rayden Murata and
Oscar Wight and the No. 2 doubles team of
Jonathan Chung and
Sage Katayama each extended their winning streaks to three with its wins.
Chung was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at No. 3 singles to extend his winning streak to five in a row. The next winner was
Oscar Wight, who won by a 6-2, 6-2 margin at No. 1 singles to secure the match victory for Pacific. Victories by
Sean Murphy, Sage Kaytama and
Rayden Murata each stretched their winning streaks to two and
Ford Nakagawa was a 6-4, 6-4 winner at No. 6.
Next, Pacific will host Bellevue (Wash.) in an exhibition match on Saturday, Mar. 17 at 4 p.m. before returning to the rigors of the Northwest Conference.
