Boxer Volleyball Begins NWC Play with Four-Set Win

The Pacific University volleyball team posted a 25-8, 25-21, 22-25, 25-15 win over George Fox to begin Northwest Conference play on Wednesday night.
 
The Boxers (7-3, 1-0 NWC)) hit at a .306 – its second highest hitting percentage of the season – in the four-set win over the Bruins. Three players – Karlee Duncan (14 kills), Milana Ivkovic (13 kills) and Morgan Mendicino (11 kills – paced the attack for Pacific.

The Bruins (6-3, 0-1 NWC) were led by a nine-kill effort by Laney Search, who hit .062 in the loss. Danyle Dupray had 11 digs and seven kills for George Fox.
 
Pacific started the match, hitting .562 in the opening set en route to a 25-8 win. The Boxers cooled off in the second set, hitting .229 in a 25-21 win. Ivkovic had five kills and Haley Walz provided seven digs. The Bruins won the third set by a 25-22 margin despite Pacific outhitting the Bruins by a .200 to .122. Pacific came back with a .400 hitting percentage with four kills each from Mendicino and Duncan to secure the win.

Next, Pacific will travel to face No. 10 Pacific Lutheran on Friday night at 7 p.m.
