Host Willamette edged the Pacific men's soccer team by a 2-1 margin on Sunday afternoon in Salem.
The Bearcats (10-3-3, 7-3-1 NWC), who managed an 18-7 advantage in shots, got on the scoreboard in the 14
th minute when Patrick Charlton found the back of the net, following a pass from Josh Schneider.
The Boxers (2-11-3, 1-6-2 NWC) got on the scoreboard late in the contest when freshman
Nico Allen scored his second goal of the week, following a pass from sophomore
Grant Rutledge in the 88
th minute.
Willamette added to its lead in the 52
nd minute as Ryan Sato scored, following a pass from Josh Schneider that proved to be the difference.
Allen had a team-high two shots for the Boxers, whereas the Bearcats attack was led by a seven-shot effort from Nicholas Ballenger. Pacific goalkeeper
Jack Orum was credited with four saves in the loss.
Next, Pacific will host its final two home matches of the season as they host Pacific Lutheran on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. and Puget Sound on Senior Day on Sunday, Nov. 3 at noon.
