A pair of first half goals led host Whitman to a 2-0 win over the Pacific University women's soccer team in Walla Walla on Sunday.
The Boxers (3-13-1, 1-12-1 NWC) managed to outshoot the visitors by a 5-4 margin in the loss.
Brooke Nakamura (pictured) led the match with four shots in the loss for Pacific.
The Blues (4-13, 4-9 NWC) got both of its goals from Pagan Hetherington, who scored in the 34
th and 44
th minute for the difference in the contest.
Nakamura had a pair of opportunities in the opening half that were saved by Whitman goalkeeper Bryanna Schreiber. The Blues countered the opportunity with both of the goals by Hetherington en route to the win.
Again, in the second half, Nakamura sought to bring the Boxers back but both opportunities were held off by the Blues' defense and reserve goalkeeper Allie Seracuse in the 66
th and 77
th minute, respectively.
Next, Pacific will close out the season with a match at George Fox on Saturday, November 8 at 11 a.m. and its final home match for senior day when they host Puget Sound on Saturday, November 9 at noon.
