The Pacific University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to host Biola University at the Biola Tennis Center in La Mirada, California on Wednesday.
The Boxers (8-3) started the match, winning at #1 doubles and at #3 doubles to secure a doubles point. The winners at #1 doubles were brothers' Rayden and
Koby Murata, who posted a 6-3 win and at #3 doubles were
Griffin Fraser and
Sean Murphy, who also posted a 6-3 win.
Biola (7-9) secured the win, winning five of the six singles matches. Among the five were a pair of three-set victories at #3 and #5 singles.
The lone win for Pacific came at #3 singles as
Jonathan Chung came back from a set down to win 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 for the victory. The win raises the individual record for Chung to 8-3 on the season – the eight wins are the second most on the team.
Next, Pacific will have a pair of matches on Thursday, Mar. 28 against Colby College (10 a.m.) and Occidental (5 p.m.).
