The No. 3 seed Pacific University men's tennis team dropped a 5-0 decision to No. 2 seed George Fox, who is ranked No. 27 in the nation, at the NWC Championships on Saturday.
The Boxers and Bruins saw rainy conditions in Walla Walla, Washington move the match indoors and the
Bratton Tennis Center.
George Fox won all three doubles matches to start the contest. At #2 doubles, the Boxers' team of
Joey Hu and
Reyn Miyagawa were edged by an 8-6 decision to Alex
Namba/Luke
Memaitre. Needing just two singles matches to clinch the match, Will Leach posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at #2 singles and Alex
Namba was a 6-4, 6-1 winner at #4 singles to wrap up the match.
The future is bright for Pacific as the Boxers will return its entire lineup but will miss the leadership of
Griffin Fraser, who will graduate in May.
