Box Score A goal in each half led host Pacific Lutheran to a 2-0 win over the Pacific University men's soccer team on Sunday.

The Boxers (1-5-1, 0-2 NWC) were held in check for most of the contest. Grant Garcia recorded a shot on goal in the loss. Jack Cuevas made two saves in the loss for Pacific.

The Lutes (5-3, 2-0 NWC) got on the scoreboard when Archie Caldwell found the back of the net in the 39^th minute. After just seeing a shot sail wide, Caldwell came back with the goal for the early advantage.

Garcia nearly had the equalizer in the 59^th minute for the Boxers, who had a shot saved by the Lutes' goalkeeper Cole Weaver.

Caldwell was involved in the second goal of the match for PLU, when he connected with Keaton Heggerness in the 72nd minute for the final margin.

Next, Pacific will be begin a stretch of four of its next five at home. The Boxers will host Willamette on Saturday, Sept. 28 at noon at Ledbetter Field at Hanson Stadium.
