The trio of
Courtney Carolan (22 points),
Camy Aguinaldo (14 points) and
Brilie Kovaloff (14 points) accounted for 50 of the 70 points for the Pacific University women's basketball team en route to a 70-59 win over host Willamette on Saturday night.

The win secures the Boxers a spot in the upcoming Northwest Conference Basketball Tournament as the No. 2 seed, where they will host George Fox on Thursday night at the Stoller Center in Forest Grove. It is a return to the conference tournament for the Boxers for the first time since 2009 and the first time that Pacific will host a game since 1996.

Pacific (17-8, 11-5 NWC) found itself down by four, 37-33 with 4:43 left in the third quarter, before closing out the quarter with a 10-2 run to regain the lead. The Boxers started the final quarter on an 8-1 run en route to the win.

The Bearcats, who fall to 13-12 overall and 7-9 in the Northwest Conference, were able to get as close as seven.

In the win, Pacific freshman
Alexis Intong grabbed 10 rebounds, Aguinaldo handed out four assists to lead the Boxers. The Bearcats, in the loss, were held to 38.6% shooting from the field and led by a 16-point effort by Amanda Carpenter. Teammate Elizabeth Logsdon added 13 in the defeat.
