The Pacific University women's lacrosse team saw nine-different players find the back of the net for a goal en route to a 19-6 win over Marian University on Tuesday night in Forest Grove.
The Boxers (1-3), who were hungry for its first win on the season, showed its offensive prowess with its balanced scoring effort to complement a tenacious defense.
Roya Tahmassebi led the offensive efforts with five goals and an assist along with three others Boxers, who had a hat trick. For Tahmassebi, it is her sixth career hat trick, plus teammates
Mackenzie Brown had four goals to go along with
Vivian Mai and
Rebecca Jimenez-Aleman, who each scored three for their first career hat trick efforts.
Madisen Castro,
Katrina Boyd,
Dakota Dantzer and
Rachel Araiza each added a goal in the win. Plus, Dantzer handed out three assists.
The Sabres (0-4) were led by Bayli Mannek, who had a hat trick of her own in the loss.
Pacific jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, including the first four by Tahmassebi, plus she had a hand on the fifth as she found Jimenez-Aleman for her first of three goals. The Boxers jumped out to a 14-3 lead at halftime. The 14 first half goals are the most by a Pacific team since a 14-goal first 30 minutes against Linfield on March 5, 2016.
Marian scored twice after a Boxer goal to start the second half to cut the deficit to 10, 15-5 with 15:52 left to play. However, Pacific came back with another goal by Jimenez-Aleman and Mai to stretch the margin back to 12, 17-5 with 7:45 to play.

Madyson Ivey led a defensive attack, making 10 saves for a second-straight game.
Next, Pacific will return to the rigors of the Northwest Conference where they will travel to face Linfield on Saturday, Mar. 14 at 1 p.m. and George Fox on Sunday, Mar. 15 at 1 p.m.
