The Pacific University women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to No. 24 (nationally)/No. 7 (West Region) Linfield on Sunday at the Holce Tennis Courts.
The Boxers (2-3) started the match, dropping three tightly-contested doubles matches including an 8-7 loss at #1 doubles. The Pacific duo of
Sydnie Binder and
Johanna Wilson lost by an 8-7 margin to Lexie Matsunaga/Tessa Kern of Linfield. The loss snapped a four-match winning streak for Binder and Wilson.
Binder was also involved in a back-and-forth match in singles as she dropped a 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7) decision to Michelle Uyeda at #1 singles. Linfield won the other five singles matches in straight-set fashion.
Next, Pacific will face Puget Sound on Saturday, Mar. 14 and Pacific Lutheran on Sunday, Mar. 15 at the Holce Tennis Courts.
