Building up towards Northwest Conference spring action the Pacific men's soccer team hosted Warner Pacific on Saturday in an exhibition contest and looked to get things rolling with their first action under Head Coach,
Brandon Porter a former Boxer.
The first half saw a stalemate until close to halftime when Warner Pacific was able to find the back of the net with just under four minutes remaining in the first half. Despite the Knights aggressive attempts in the contest the Boxers were able to hold them off and trail just 1-0 at halftime. The only other goal of the contest came from the visitors also as Warner Pacific netted their second goal of the contest 12 minutes into the second half and kept that 2-0 advantage handing the Boxers the loss.
In the contest
Connor Matto anchored the goal for Pacific and had seven saves, while
Nico Allen,
Cade Taniguchi,
Mitch Takara,
Brycen Lee each recorded a shot on goal.
Boxers now turn their attention to open their official spring season with a NWC road tilt against Willamette on Sunday, February 28th with a 3:00pm kickoff.
