After suffering a tough loss to Lewis & Clark at home the Pacific women's soccer team travel to Portland to take on the Pioneers on Sunday and looked for a difference outcome this time around. That different outcome came for the Boxers in the form of a 0-0 tie.
Despite being out shot 11-2 in the first half the Boxers were able to get keep Lewis & Clark off the board and maintain the contest at a scoreless affair headed into halftime. Each team notched six shots in the second half but were unable to find the back of the net pushing the game to overtime where six shot opportunities between the two teams were unable to produce a goal leading to the scoreless tie.
Boxers were out shot in the contest 21-10 in the matchup but managed to keep the Pioneers from recording a goal in the matchup.
Peyton Seals and
Kaylen Soo each had a pair of shot attempts, while
Nadya Ortiz,
Karla Herrera-Zarate,
Maliah Jobe,
Brooklyn Yano, and
Catalina Alvarado each recorded a shot.
Catherine Corlett anchored the goal for the Boxers for all 110 minutes of action and notched five saves.
The tie moves the Boxers recorded to 1-4-1 with two games remaining this season both against George Fox. Pacific is set to host George Fox on Wednesday, March 31st at 4:30pm for their next contest.
