Coming off an electric season opening win in overtime the Pacific women's soccer team played host to
Linfield on Wednesday for their home opener.
The contest proved a tight battle, but it was a goal just about 11 minutes into the contest by the visiting Wildcats that proved to be too much for the Boxers as the Pacific fell 1-0 in the game.
Boxers looked to
knot the game up late like they did in the season opener working in their offensive third for the last couple minutes of the contest, but opportunities ultimately were unable to produce a goal.
In the loss, Boxers were
out shot 9-6 by
Linfield, while corners were almost even with five for
Linfield and four for Pacific. Catherine
Corlett registered three saves for the Boxers.
The loss moves Pacific to 1-1 on the season and will look for a different outcome against the Wildcats come Sunday, March 7
th when they travel to McMinnville for a 2:00 pm kick.
