Men's Basketball Wraps Up 2021 Spring Season

The Pacific University men's basketball team concluded the 2021 spring season by splitting two games with Eastern Oregon University on Friday and Saturday.
 
The Boxers were able to take game one, 100-89 Friday night in La Grande. Pacific was able to effectively use their defense causing 17 turnovers. Pacific found themselves up 55-43 at halftime after going on a 15-2 run to close out the last 2:20 of the first half.  Eastern Oregon was able to counter the run with a 19-6 run to open the second half to tie the game at 61 with 14:47 remaining. The final 17-6 run came from the Boxers with 5:56 remaining in the game and put the Boxers ahead for good.
 
Pacific finished the game with four players in double figures. Ethan Chung and Mario Mora each had 18 points. Jacob Bolger contributed 15 of his own to the Boxers total. Colin Rardin was able to record a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists.
 
Game two went the way of Eastern Oregon 106-87. The Boxers were outrebounded 47-31 by the Mountaineers. Pacific again used their defense turning Eastern over 20 times in the contest.
 
Following two free throws from Tyre Hicks to close the first half, Pacific found themselves trailing 56-44. From that point on, the Mountaineers would not squander the lead with the Boxers getting no closer than 6.
 
Mario Mora led the Boxers scoring attack with 20 points, while Colin Rardin and Ethan Chung contributed 16 and 14 points respectively.
 
The Boxers finish the 2021 spring season with a 4-8 record along with a 3-5 record against the NWC.
