Boxer Baseball Concludes Historic Season Following Loss in NCAA Regional Championship

The Pacific University baseball team concluded the 2021 season on Monday with a 13-9 loss in the NCAA Division III Collegeville Regional Championship in Minnesota. The Boxers finish the season with a 34-15 record which is their best record and win percentage since electronic tracking began in 2000.
 
The Boxers found themselves down early in the game. Following an RBI single from St. Thomas in the 5th, Pacific was down 6-1. Over the course of the next three innings the Boxers were able to not only to climb back into the game, but were able to take a 9-8 lead in the 7th inning. During the run of the Boxers scoring 8 runs, Brad Altomare had an RBI double, Isaac Lovings had a 2 run homerun, Chase Anderson had a 2-run RBI double and Tyler Quinn, Damon Tanner and Davis Koester each were responsible for an RBI single.
 
St. Thomas was able to score 4 unanswered runs in the top of the 9th to win 13-9.
 
The Boxers offensively were led by Brad Altomare who had 2 hits in four at-bats with 1 RBI, Isaac Lovings who went 2-3 with 2 RBI's on a double and a homerun and Damon Tanner who went 2-4 with 2 RBI's.
 
The Boxers had 4 players selected to the Collegeville Regional All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of play. Representing Pacific was Chase Anderson, Derek Eubanks, Jordan Hara and Ryan Krout.
