FOREST GROVE, Ore. – One of the nation's top teams, Pacific Lutheran, handed Pacific a 4-2 defeat on Sunday afternoon inside Hanson Stadium
The Lutes notched two goals in each half to build a four-goal cushion. In the final 10 minutes, the Boxers scored twice to cut the lead in half. However, it was not enough as PLU earned all three points.

How It Happened
The Boxers found themselves down 2-0 after just 10 minutes when Trevor Thompson netted two brilliant goals. The striker rounded the goalkeeper and scored from a tight angle to score the first goal and curled in a wonderful strike from outside the box just a few minutes later, giving his team the two-goal advantage.
Pacific Lutheran hit Pacific for two more goals shortly after halftime when Cris Lozano and Brandt Kelly found the back of the net to put the visitors out of sight.
The Boxers battled back into the match when Heflin converted from the penalty spot after drawing a foul in the box in the 83
rd minute.
Just two minutes later,
Nico Allen made a blistering run down the right side and picked out Pirz making a brilliant run into the penalty area before scoring his first collegiate goal.
Despite the feverous comeback, the Lutes would come away with all three points after their 4-2 victory.
What It Means
Pacific falls to 0-8-2 and 0-5-1 in NWC play. Pacific Lutheran improves 9-2 and 4-2 in conference action, ascending to second place in the conference table.
