FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Pacific Men's Soccer surrendered two second-half goals and couldn't find the rhythm in attack to threaten Northwest University (Wash.), who came away with the 2-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at Hanson Stadium.
The Eagles found the back of the net twice in a five-minute span to create their two-goal advantage. The two teams were equal in the shot column (7) but Pacific managed just two attempts on frame in the 90 minutes.

How It Happened
The Boxers were lively in the opening 20 minutes of the contest but couldn't find the breakthrough. Pacific's defensive backline was solid against a dangerous Northwest front three, holding the Eagles to just two shots in the first half.
The visitors eventually broke the deadlock in the 61
st minute when Tyler Hopp thumped a side volley from outside the box that rose into the top corner of the net, giving his team a 1-0 lead.
Less than five minutes later, Northwest doubled their lead after winning a free kick outside the penalty area. Jacen Stein whipped in a great ball to defender Frederik Martin who nodded home at the back post.
Pacific looked more of a threat to score in the final five minutes, recording four shots, but only one of those attempts would test the Eagles' goalkeeper.
What It Means
The Boxers fall to 0-2 and see their record drop to 1-5 all-time against Northwest.
