NEWBERG -- Pacific couldn't keep up with one of the top teams in the Northwest Conference Wednesday night, falling 3-0 (17-25, 18-25, 20-25) at George Fox.
The Boxers never led in the first set. After Pacific got within 9-11, the Bruins answered with a 4-0 run to take control of the set and the Boxers never got closer than four points.Â
After Pacific scored the first point of the second set on a kill by
Kayla Craft, George Fox responded with a 4-0 run and never trailed again.
The third set was the closest of the night with the Boxers leading 12-11. After the Bruins went on a 3-0 run, Pacific got within a point five times, but never tied or led again in the set.
Mara Murphy led the Boxers with 15 kills, 11 digs and a block.
Alison Brown recorded nine kills.
Emily Cheavtharn added 33 assists and six digs.Â
Pacific hit .183 and had 10 service errors in the three sets.
Next, the Boxers (5-13, 1-8) return home to play Pacific Lutheran (9-7, 8-0) Thursday inside the Stoller Center.
