NAMPA, Idaho --
Olivia Azzollini made sure Pacific's trip to Idaho got off to a fast start.
The freshman midfielder netted her first collegiate goal in the third minute to jump start the Boxers to a 2-1 victory over NW Nazarene Saturday.
Senior
Ivette Garcia-Gomez had the assist as Pacific led 1-0 until the Nighthawks evened the match in the 37th minute on a goal by Madison Grande.
Garcia-Gomez then put the ball in the back of the net for the game-winning goal in the 56th minute. Senior
Catalina Alvarado recorded the assist as the Boxers picked up their first win of the 2023 season.
Katelyn Volchock (2),
Cyd Sugiyama and
Brooklyn Yano also had shots on goal in the victory.
Goalkeeper
Isabella De La Cruz recorded seven saves for Pacific, which wraps up its trip to Idaho Sunday against College of Idaho.
The Boxers then open Northwest Conference play on Saturday, Sept. 16 at George Fox.
