PORTLAND -- Senior
Mara Murphy climbed to the top of the Pacific volleyball record book Saturday night, breaking the career kills record in a 3-1 Northwest Conference victory at Lewis & Clark.
Murphy, who entered the match four kills behind Alexa Block's record of 1,082, finished with 18 kills against the Pioneers to bring her career total to 1,096.Â
Sophomore
Emma Velchek recorded 10 kills and 10 digs in the victory. Senior
Sarah Hon had 21 assists and five kills.
After losing the first set 26-24, the Boxers won three in a row, 25-23, 25-18, 25-16 to break a four-match losing streak. Pacific trailed 22-20 before closing the second set on a 5-1 run. Down 11-10 in the third set, the Boxers went on a 4-0 run to take the lead for good. Pacific never trailed in the fourth set.Â
Lewis & Clark dropped to 0-15 overall and 0-8 in the NWC with the loss.Â
