Mara Murphy finished her Pacific volleyball career with a season-high 24 kills and the Boxers needed everyone of them to defeat Lewis & Clark 3-2 Friday night inside the Stoller Center.
Pacific played on its heels after dropping the first set, 19-25, to the winless Pioneers.Â
The Boxers won the second set 25-20 to even the match, but Lewis & Clark then took the third 25-20.Â
After dominating the fourth set 25-15, Pacific went on a 3-0 run to take a 13-10 lead in the fifth and then finished off the Pioneers 15-13 on a Murphy kill for match point.
Murphy, who finishes her carer with 1,228 kills, the most in Pacific volleyball history, also recorded 10 digs in her final match.
Senior
Danica Nelson had 22 digs and four aces. Senior
Sarah Hon posted 22 assists. Sophomore
Emma Velchek added 18 kills and seven digs.
The Boxers finished the 2024 season with a 10-14 overall record and went 5-11 in the Northwest Conference.
