Pacific again found itself trailing Whitworth early.
But this time the Boxers could not complete the comeback, falling 11-4 Sunday afternoon at Chuck Bafaro Stadium in Forest Grove.
Pacific scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth on a two-run homer by
CJ Colyer and an RBI single by
Dawson Tokishi to get the Boxers within 5-4.
However, the Pirates scored a run in the eighth and added five more in the ninth inning while Pacific was shut out in the final four frames.
Whitworth had just five hits in the game but took advantage of six Pacific errors and also worked six walks.
Colyer finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a stolen base.
Matt Gibbs was 1-for-2 with two walks, a stolen base and scored two runs.
The loss snapped the Boxers seven-game winning streak. Pacific dropped to 12-3 overall and 2-2 in the Northwest Conference.
Next, the Boxers begin at three-game series at Whitman on Saturday, March 23.
