Will Clark had a long line of teammates waiting to congratulate him after Saturday's 14-4 victory over Bethany Lutheran.
The Pacific senior broke the program's career wins record (23) and earned his 200th career strikeout during the game.
"Just a lot of credit to the team and the culture that we've been able to build in my three and half years here," said Clark, who allowed five hits and four runs to the Vikings. "I really owe a lot to (Coach Brian) Billings, who's really helped me and stuck with me as I've progressed through my college career."
Clark got off to a rough start, giving up three runs on three hits and three walks in the top of the first inning. However, Clark was able to pitch out of a bases loaded jam and then shut out Bethany Lutheran in the second, third and fourth innings before allowing one more un in the fifth.
"I had a little adversity early and I really just had to bear down and throw strikes and just get guys out," Clark said.
Pacific answered with five runs in the bottom of the third inning and added eight more in the fifth to bust the game open.
"Knowing that we have an offense that can support a few runs given up helps a lot," Clark said.
At the plate,
Matt Gibbs was 2-for-4 with a double and three-run homer.
CJ Colyer was 2-for-4 with a triple, three runs and four RBIs.
Walker Matthews went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs.
Trevor Kazahaya finished 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
The Boxers won all four games against Bethany Lutheran to improve to 9-2 overall.
Next, Pacific hosts UMass Boston on Monday at 4 p.m.
