MCMINNVILLE -- A penalty kick by senior Ivette Garcia-Gomez got Pacific on the scoreboard in the 89th minute. But the goal was too little, too late for the Boxers, who fell 2-1 to Linfield Sunday afternoon to open Northwest Conference play.

Both of the Wildcats goals came in the first half as Linfield scored in the 29th and 36th minute to take a 2-0 lead into intermission.

Pacific goalkeeper Isabella De La Cruz recorded six saves in the loss. The Boxers finished with three shots on goal and five shots total.

Pacific has lost three straight against rival Linfield. The Boxers last win against the Wildcats came 1-0 on Oct. 27, 2021.
