Boxers seeking first win after Texas trip

MARSHALL, Tex. -- Trying to avoid a series sweep, Pacific got the go-ahead runner to the plate in the top of the ninth inning.

But the Boxers rally ended on a fly out to center field, resulting in a 5-3 loss Saturday afternoon at East Texas Baptist.

Trailing 5-2 with two outs in the ninth, Trevor Kazahaya and Benjamin Lewis hit back-to-back singles to give Pacific a chance. Matt Gibbs then singled to left field to drive in Kazahaya from third base.

Gibbs was 2-for-3 with a walk, run and RBI in the game three loss. Lewis went 2-for-4 and scored a run.

East Texas Baptist scored two runs in the first inning, one in the sixth and two more in the seventh.
