Forest Grove Aquatic Center

Forest Grove Aquatic Center

Located adjacent to the Pacific University campus along Sunset Drive, the Forest Grove Aquatic Center is the home to the Pacific men’s and women’s swimming programs.  The aquatic center is located southwest of the Stoller Center and just north of the University’s Burlingham Residence Hall.

The facility was upgraded in 2001 with an extensive remodel. The 25-yard pool can be easily configured for competitive events, water polo games and recreational swimming.  The pool also features a therapy pool, spa and an outdoor splash park that opens on warm afternoons.

The 2001 remodel of the aquatic center revised the building’s offices and locker rooms and added the wing housing the therapy pool. The splash park replaced an outdoor pool that saw limited use only three months a year.

Owned by the City of Forest Grove, the city has partnered with Pacific, the Forest Grove Swim Club and the Forest Grove School District to make the facility better equipped for competitive events. In 2005, new starting blocks were purchased with funds raised in the community.

In 2007, the four programs partnered for a new scoreboard and timing system. The scoreboard, provided by Daktronics, is capable of showing times for all six lanes and will be valuable for high school, college and club competitions alike.
In addition to hosting Pacific swimming, the Forest Grove Aquatic Center is the home to the Forest Grove Swim Club and Forest Grove High School’s swimming and water polo teams.

The aquatic center shares a strong relationship with Pacific University which allows all students to use the facility free of charge during open swims and fitness swims. All students must show their “Boxer Card” identification.

The Forest Grove Aquatic Center also offers a number of swim classes, including lessons and water aerobics. For more information on the aquatic center, including schedules and class information, please visit their Web site, http://www.forestgrove-or.gov.
