A new era in the storied tradition of the Pacific softball programs began in 2008 as the Boxers move into the new home facility, Sherman/Larkins Stadium.
Already being hailed as one of the top collegiate softball facilities in the Northwest, Sherman/Larkins Stadium is one of three components of the Lincoln Park Athletic Complex, a series of athletics facilities developed by Pacific University and owned by the City of Forest Grove. The field provides players with a first class playing surface and surroundings, while also affording fans a great venue in which to take in a game.
The facility officially opened on Apr. 5, 2008, with Pacific posting a doubleheader sweep over longtime rival Pacific Lutheran. Dedication ceremonies took place prior to the games.
The amenities provided for Pacific players are among the best for collegiate softball at any level. Covered dugouts provide ample storage for players’ equipment, helmets and bats. Drinking fountains in each dugout keep cold, running water available during games. Adjacent storage areas keep field maintenance equipment close by for quick restarts after rain delays and between doubleheader games. Additional work was done during Fall 2010 to improve the drainage to the facility's outfield.
In September of 2021, artificial field turf was installed in the outfield. This addition makes the field more durable and versatile in various conditions.

Sherman/Larkins Stadium is the only softball facility in the Northwest Conference to offer both enclosed bullpens and a batting cage. The bullpens are located just up the baseline from each dugout and are fenced off separately from the field. The batting cage, located just beyond the right field fence, provides Pacific hitters a safe place to hone their batting skills.
A permanent grandstand boasts 300 seats for fans behind home plate and up the first and third base lines. Additionally, the field boasts one of only two inning-by-inning scoreboards in the Northwest Conference, keeping spectators informed with the latest game information. An enclosed press box provides plenty of room for media and game workers and is ample for hosting regional and national events.
Sherman/Larkins Stadium is named in honor of Judy Sherman, a longtime Pacific coach and athletics administrator. Sherman coached Pacific softball for nearly 30 years and led the Boxers to six conference championships and five national tournament appearances. She also served as Pacific’s director of athletics for 12 years before retiring in 2005.
Additionally, the field honors the Larkins family, who was instrumental in developing the first softball fields in Forest Grove. Ellerd Larkins, Sherman’s father, provided the funds for the fields and helped start Pacific’s softball tradition by piquing his daughter’s interest in the game.
