A four-year anchor for the Boxers on the offensive line, Eric Gietzen stays in his hometown as he joins the Pacific coaching staff as an assistant offensive line coach.
Â
Gietzen was a four-year starter for the Boxers and started all 37 games since the program returned in 2010.  In his senior season, Gietzen played a critical role in a Pacific line that helped protect a potent Pacific passing offense that finished 33rd in Division III in scoring. The Boxers allowed a paltry 1.70 sacks per game, ranking third in the NWC that category.
Â
Gietzen was twice named to All-Northwest Conference squads, earning honorable mention nods in 2012 and 2013.
Â
Gietzen, a native of Forest Grove, played at Forest Grove High School under former Pacific assistant coach Mike McCabe. The two-way performer saw action on both the offensive and defensive lines.
Â
Gietzen graduated from Pacific in 2014 with a degree in sociology.Â
