Coach Jay Williams grew up in Pompano Beach, FL, where he started playing football at the age of 7. Williams previously was Head Football Coach for David Douglas High School in Portland, OR from 2024-2025. He also coached Wide Receivers for David Douglas High School from 2010-2013 and rejoined the coaching staff for the 2021 season as the Running Backs Coach, JV1 Co-Head Coach/OC and the Assistant Varsity OC. During the 2019 season, he was the Wide Receiver Coach at Oregon City High School.  He has also coached youth sports football and basketball teams since 2007. In 2020, Williams started the Portland Activities & Athletics League (PAAL), a non-profit organization, where he is the President & Executive Director.Â
Williams received a General Studies degree from Mesa Community College (Mesa, AZ) and a B.A. in Communication Studies from Portland State University (Portland, OR).  Williams played Wide Receiver during his collegiate career at Portland State University and Mesa Community College.
Williams also played WR/DB in the Arena Football League (AFL) for the Green Bay Blizzards (Green Bay, WI), Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers (Wilkes-Barre, PA), as well as in the Indoor Football League (IFL) for the San Angelo Stampede (San Angelo, TX), Wheeling Wildcats (Wheeling, WV), and the Alaska Wild (Anchorage, AK).
In his spare time, Williams enjoys watching football and spending time with his wife Jamila, and their two daughters Jenna (13) and Jordyn (11) and their two beloved Chihuahuas, Pepper and Sugar.Â
