John Steiger

John Steiger enters into his fifth season as a Boxer assistant coach in 2016.
 
Steiger serves as Pacific’s special teams coordinator and also coaches the running backs.  He spent his first two seasons at Pacific as the program’s defensive tackles coach.
 
Prior to arriving in Forest Grove, Steiger spent the four seasons as an undergraduate assistant coach at Oregon, where his duties included assisting with the tight ends, working on film breakdown and developing the offensive playbook.  Steiger helped prepare the Ducks for their appearances in 2010 and 2012 Rose Bowl games and the 2011 BCS National Championship Game.
 
A native of San Diego, Steiger played his prep football at Scripps Ranch High School where he was a running back, defensive tackle, defensive end and long snapper.
 
Steiger graduated from the University of Oregon in 2012 with a degree in sociology and a minor in business administration.
