Heading into his third season on the Boxer coaching staff in 2016 is defensive line coach and equipment manager Michael Smith.
After wrapping up a solid four-year playing career for the Boxers, Smith first served as the assistant defensive line coach for two seasons before becoming the leader of that unit for the 2015 season. He became the program's equipment manager in 2016.
Smith played in all 10 games for the Boxers as a senior in 2013. He saw action in all nine games as a junior and started all nine games during his freshman campaign.
A native of Tumwater, Wash., Smith played his prep football at Tumwater High School where he was an All-Evergreen Conference selection as a senior. Smith graduated from Pacific in 2014 with a degree in psychology.
