Andy McClouskey brings over 25 years of coaching experience at the Division I level to Forest Grove for his fifth season as an assistant coach for both the Boxers’ men’s and women’s basketball programs.
McClouskey came to Pacific after three seasons as an assistant coach of the men’s basketball program at Portland State as part of Tyler Geving’s staff. In that role, he specifically focused on coordinating defensive game plans and working with the development of perimeter players.
Â
Before his arrival on the Park Blocks, McClouskey spent eight seasons working alongside current Boxer head coach Tim Cleary as part of the staff at Boise State. During their tenure, the Broncos made appearances in the NCAA Tournament (2008), the NIT (2005) and the CBI Tournament (2009).
Â
McClouskey’s other Division I stops include tenures at Nevada (1999-2002), Stetson (1996-1999) and Oregon State (1988-1995), where he worked under the legendary Ralph Miller and Jimmy Anderson. McClouskey’s coaching career began in 1982 as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Oregon State. He moved on to Mt. Hood Community College, where he served as the head men’s basketball coach from 1985 to 1988.
Â
In addition to his coaching experience, McClouskey spent one year as a sport talk show host for KLOO and KFAT radio in Corvallis.
Â
A native of Lebanon, Ore., McClouskey played two seasons under Miller at Oregon State, including the 1980 squad that won the first of the Beavers’ three consecutive Pac-10 titles and finished 26-4 overall. He has a stellar high school career, finishing as the third leading scorer in Oregon big school history. In February 2017, he was inducted into the Lebanon High School Athletic Hall of Fame.Â
McClouskey graduated from Oregon State in 1982 with a degree in technical journalism. He has two daughters, Madison and Zoie.
