K.C. Beard makes his way west from the Lone Star staff to join Tim Cleary’s Pacific men’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach.

Beard comes to Forest Grove after two seasons as a graduate assistant at Division II West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas.  While with the staff, the Buffaloes finished with a 23-7 record in 2010-11 and advanced to the NCAA Division II playoffs and a No. 23 national ranking.  Beard also spent one season (2008-09) as the video coordinator at Southern Methodist.

Beard first worked under Cleary in a three-year stint (2005-08) as a student assistant coach at Boise State.  He was part of the staff that led the Broncos to the 2008 Western Athletic Conference championship and berth in the NCAA Division I Tournament.

A native of Parma, Idaho, Beard earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Boise State 2008 and earned his master’s in business administration from West Texas A&M in 2010.  A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Beard completed a two-year mission for the church in McAllen, Texas.
