Joining the Pacific University men’s soccer staff in 2014 with Eric Mild is Boxer assistant coach Colin Garon. 2016 will mark his third season on the sidelines for Pacific.
In addition to being Mild’s lead assistant, Garon also is the head coach of the junior varsity program.
Garon spent the 2013 season as an assistant coach with the UC Davis women’s soccer program. He began his coaching career at his alma mater, NCAA Division II Humboldt State, and served for a time as the program’s interim head coach.
Before beginning his coaching career, Garon was a four-year letterwinner as Humboldt State’s primary goalkeeper. A fixture in the Jacks’ lineup from 1998-2001, he is ranked third on the HSU career list with 17 shutouts and is seventh with a 1.52 goals against average.
As a freshman, Garon recorded 5.5 shutouts, the seventh-highest single season total in the Lumberjack record book and finished the 2000 season with a 1.20 goals against average, seventh best in program history.
In addition to his coaching experience at UC Davis and Humboldt State, Garon was the head coach of the Poway (Calif.) Vaqueros Soccer Club from 2008 to 2010. During his tenure with the organization, he led two teams to the California State Cup finals and served as a goalkeeper specialist for the club’s youth teams.
Garon earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Humboldt State in 2012.
