Justin Carrier brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience at the NCAA Division III level to Forest Grove for his second season as an assistant coach for the Pacific tennis program, with his primary emphasis on the women’s team.

Carrier joined the Pacific staff in 2013 after spending six seasons as head men’s and women’s coach at his alma mater, Earlham College, in Richmond, Ind. Leading the programs from 2003 to 2009, Earlham compiled an overall record of 71-82 and guided their Hustlin’ Quakers’ women to the best conference season in the history of the program in 2007.

Carrier moved to the Northwest in 2010 and currently works as a teaching pro at the Clackamas River Racquet Club in Gladstone. He also spent the 2012 season as the head girls’ tennis coach at West Linn High School.Â

In addition, Carrier has also worked with various camps in New York, Indiana and Oregon. He has also worked as a teaching pro at the Saratoga Golf & Polo Club in Saratoga, N.Y., and the Schuyler Meadows Golf Club in Latham, N.Y. He also served as the head pro at the Christmas Cove Improvement Association in South Bristol, Maine.

Carrier was a Division III tennis player at Earlham, where he was three times voted as the Hustlin’ Quakers’ most valuable player. He compiled a 45-23 career singles record at the No. 1 and No. 2 flights.

A native of Voorheesville, N.Y., Carrier graduated from Earlham in 2002 with a degree in economics. He has earned teaching certifications by the Professional Tennis Registry and the United State Professional Tennis Association. He continues to compete on various USTA teams in the Portland region.
