- Signed be the Detroit Tigers in 1940, and assigned to class C Muskegon, Michigan
- Also played in the Minor Leagues for the Salem Senators and Portland Beavers 
- During Military service led fort DIX Baseball team to New Jersey state title, earning tryout offers from numerous Major League teams
- Played for Portland Beavers in 1945 and 1949 while also working surgeon
