Katie Duroe

Katie Duroe was announced as the Head Softball Coach in September of 2021. Duroe comes to Pacific from Bushnell University in Eugene, Ore. where she served as the head of their softball program for three years.

In her first season as head coach, she coached three Boxers who were selected All-NWC. Rylee Patton received First Team recognition after finishing 23rd in all of Division III with 51 hits on the year.

"It was clear in getting to know her during the interview process that Coach Duroe has a drive and vision for the success of our softball program into the future," said Director of Athletics Keith Buckley. "We are excited to have her join Boxer Nation and look forward to her arrival on campus to begin fall ball with the team."

In her first year at Bushnell, Duroe built the largest roster in the program's history after recruiting nearly 20 new student-athletes. Success on the field immediately followed as her 2019 squad produced their best record in the last three years.

Her accomplishments included cutting the team ERA in half and picking up a road win over nationally-ranked Corban University. Before the 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Beacons knocked off No. 25 Marymount College under her leadership.

Duroe also completed over 100 hours of community service in 2019.

Before taking the job at Bushnell, Duroe served as the top assistant for two seasons at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kan. She also previously coached at Ellsworth Community College where she was the head of recruiting. Concurrently, she was the Co-Head Coach at Belmond-Klemme High School.

Duroe is originally from Olathe, Kan. and played collegiately at Baker University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. Duroe also earned her Master's degree in Sport Management from Southern New Hampshire University.
