Stephanie Henningsen

  • Title
    Assistant Softball Coach
Henningsen returns for her third season as an assistant softball coach. Pacific University’s Female Athlete Of The Year in 2010-11, Henningsen coaches outfielders and lefty slap hitters, something she knows very well as the consummate leadoff hitter.

A four-year starter in center field, Henningsen was a four-year all-conference selection with back-to-back First Team All-NWC honors as a junior and senior. The Hillsboro native was selected First Team All-West Region as a senior and was recently presented with the 2011 NCAA Division III Golden Shoe Award as one of the nation’s top basestealers.

Henningsen set team records for hits (57), runs scored (53) and stolen bases (38), while batting .429 as a senior, helping lead the Boxers to a team-record .348 batting average. With 38 steals in 40 attempts, Henningsen was practically an automatic double whenever she reached base. And she reached base frequently, ranking third in the NWC in on base percentage (.510) and fourth in batting average. Her 0.95 stolen bases per game ranked sixth in the nation in Division III.

Henningsen’s senior season feats were all accomplished while completing her student teaching duties in Pacific’s College Of Education. Henningsen never hit less than .350 during her four seasons and completed her career with 90 stolen bases in 101 attempts (.891).

A native of Hillsboro, Ore. and graduate of Glencoe High School, where she helped the Crimson Tide to the 6A state championship game as a senior First Team All-State selection, Henningsen completed her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and is currently a substitute teacher in the area.

Henningsen currently resides in Hillsboro, Ore. with her husband Trask.
