Amanda Dudley

An experienced rower and an up-and-coming coach in the NCAA Division III ranks, Amanda Dudley heads into her third season as Pacific University’s first head women’s rowing coach.
 
The team continues to make strides of improvement under her tutelage. The Boxers' wrapped up the 2016-17 season with its fastest time in program history in the third final of the women's varsity eight at the WIRA Championships at Lake Natoma in Sacramento, California.

In addition to the success on the water, Dudley and Pacific have been the host to the Hogg Lake Invitational that continues to bring teams to Forest Grove from throughout the west coast. Plus, the Boxers have been strong in the classroom with a 3.07 grade-point average for 2016-17.   
 
Dudley comes to Forest Grove after three seasons (2010-2013) as an assistant rowing coach at her alma mater, St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.   She worked with both the men’s and women’s teams on the water and off, planning for practice and team travel, managing recruiting and gear orders and developing the team’s social media presence.
 
During Summer 2013, Dudley worked as a national team department intern with the United States Rowing Association, the national governing body for the sport.  In that role, she helped coordinate international travel itineraries and paperwork for the national team, helped compile training center handbooks and worked to plan social and fundraising activities.
 
Prior to her work at St. Lawrence, Dudley spent one season as the novice men’s coach with the William & Mary Rowing Club in Williamsburg, Va.  She led the novice men to medals at the 2009 Head of the Occoquan and 2010 Southern intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship regattas.  She also spent one season as a novice men’s coach at Lake Braddock Secondary School in Fairfax, Va.
 
A four-year member of the St. Lawrence women’s rowing team as a student-athlete, she stroked the varsity 8+ that was named the Liberty League’s Crew of the Year in 2008 and went undefeated in the regular spring season.  The crew took silver at the New York State Collegiate Championships and gold at the Liberty League Championship. She led the team to its first appearance at the NCAA Division III Rowing Championship in 2008, garnering a fifth place finish.
 
A native of Syracuse, N.Y., Dudley graduated from St. Lawrence with a degree in French and a minor in government in 2008.  She earned her Master’s degree in secondary foreign language education (French) from William & Mary in 2010.
